Morpholine is a secondary amine, but also has the properties of both inorganic and organic acids, can generate salts and amides.

Due to the unique chemical properties of morpholine, it is one of the fine petrochemicals with important commercial applications, which can be used to prepare NOBS, DTOS and MDS, such as rubber vulcanization accelerators, rust inhibitors, anti-corrosion agents, detergents, descaling agents, painkillers, local anesthetics, sedatives, respiratory and vascular stimulants, surface activators, optical bleaching agents, fruit preservatives, textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries, etc. It has a wide range of applications in rubber, medicine, pesticide, dyestuff, paint, etc. In medicine, it is used to produce morpholine guanidine, virus, ibuprofen, cough, naproxen, dichloroaniline, sodium phenylacetate and other important drugs.

The production method of morpholine mainly has DEA method (diethanolamine method) and DEG method (diethylene glycol method) two. Foreign in recent years the development of new monomers of polymer morpholine acrylic acid is also worth noting. Morpholine acrylate is obtained by the reaction of acrylate and morpholine, the product is a water-soluble monomer, its polymerization is also water-soluble, so it is used in the modification of water-based polymers; in addition, it is also used in large quantities as a reaction diluent for UV-curable resins; with the application of research continues to deepen, many new specific uses continue to be developed, becoming a very rapidly developing polymer monomer.
